This is an 11 - 16 training programme with post-16 experience. You will be trained in a highly supportive and inspirational range of learning environments and will develop the rigour, professional knowledge, academic, understanding and skills necessary for the delivery of creative and challenging teaching and learning.
The majority of the training will be delivered by expert teachers, outstanding practitioners and well qualified mentors in our alliance of schools.
You will complete two placements and will be allocated to schools in the Cheshire East SCITT.
In addition you will also complete a short primary and special school placement to focus on transition, SEND and to give you an insight into all types of learners.
All of our partner schools have comprehensive intakes and you will have the experience of working with young people of all abilities.
As secondary trainees, at least one of your placements will give you access to post 16 learners to give you the experience of working with learners in all phases and contexts.
You will have access to the facilities of both The Cheshire East SCITT training centre and The Manchester Metropolitan University, which has national recognition for its high quality Initial Teacher Training provision. The majority of your time will be school based. You will also have subject training days throughout the academic year which will also be based at the Cheshire East SCITT Training Centre as well as several days where you will be based at the University, to focus on your Masters level work.
